BOIL WATER NOTICE UPDATED
December 05, 2019
Due to recent low distribution pressures within the water supply distribution system as the result of routine water main repairs, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Craft-Turney Water Supply Corporation to notify all customers WITHIN THE AREA LISTED BELOW, to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etcl). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should bollow these directions.
THE AREA INCLUDES:
From the Intersection of Highway 69 S and County Road 1616 (on the West Side of Highway 69 S) -- Continue South on Highway 69 up to the top of Seven Mile Hill or ending just before the concrete barriers end at the top of Seven Mile Hill, being the address of 33089 US Hwy 69 N, Jacksonville, TX 75766. Includes the area along the West side of Highway 69 S between the stated Intersections and also includes County Roads: 1615, 1628, 1629, and 1631 only. The notice DOES NOT INCLUDE County Road 1616.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption pruposes.
Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.
